User Agreement for Mollusk MapScan
By creating an account and using the Mollusk MapScan System, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure the responsible, secure, and ethical use of the system for mollusk identification, mapping, and research within selected coastal barangays of Davao Occidental.
1. Purpose of the System
Mollusk MapScan is developed to support scientific research, community-based monitoring, and conservation activities. The data collected through the system may be used by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), LGUs, and authorized stakeholders for environmental assessment and resource management.
2. User Responsibilities
Users agree to provide accurate information during registration and when submitting mollusk images, location data, or any system input. Users must not upload inappropriate, false, or misleading content. Any misuse of data, manipulation of records, or unauthorized system access may result in account suspension or removal.
3. Data Collection and Privacy
The system collects personal information (such as name and email), uploaded images, geographic coordinates, timestamps, and classification results. All data will be handled confidentially and used only for research, monitoring, system analysis, and report generation. Personal information will not be shared publicly without consent, except when required by authorized agencies for environmental or administrative purposes.
4. Accuracy of Classification
The mobile application uses a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model for mollusk identification. While the system is designed to provide reliable results, it may not always be 100% accurate. Users understand that classification outputs serve as decision-support information and should be verified when necessary. Incorrect or unclear results may be reviewed and corrected by the system administrator.
5. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to engage in actions that may compromise the integrity or security of the system. This includes attempting to bypass access controls, altering or deleting records without authorization, exploiting location data for harmful activities, or uploading non-mollusk images.
6. Administrative Rights
System administrators reserve the right to review, validate, modify, or remove species records, user submissions, and incorrect data. Admins may also deactivate accounts involved in violations or suspicious activity. Administrators may update system features, policies, and security measures to ensure proper operation.
7. System Limitations
The mobile identification feature works offline, but uploading data and viewing map updates require an internet connection. The system currently supports identification of Imbao (Anodontia edentula), Talaba (Ostrea spp.), and Tahong (Perna viridis). The developers are not liable for damages resulting from system misuse or inaccuracies in classification.
Consent and Agreement
By proceeding with account creation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this User Agreement. You also consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your data as described in this policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not create an account or use the system.
